About the Brand

CLIF Bar began with a 175-mile bicycle ride in 1990, when cyclist and baker Gary Erickson decided active people deserved an energy bar that was more enjoyable to eat. He developed the recipe with his mother and launched the bar in 1992, naming it for his father Clifford, who had encouraged his love of outdoor adventure.
