About the Brand

Ethique is a New Zealand beauty brand founded by Brianne West in her Christchurch kitchen in 2012 after frustration with the plastic and water waste built into conventional bathroom products. Its solid shampoo and conditioner bars remove the need for a disposable bottle and avoid transporting formulas made largely from water. That systems-level approach is Ethique's real point of difference: plastic- and microplastic-free products, home-compostable packaging, vegan and cruelty-free formulations, and careful consideration of the product's full lifecycle. Still made in Auckland, the brand promises effective personal care that makes reducing everyday waste feel like a practical switch rather than a sacrifice.
