Stress-Free Ways To Incorporate Mushrooms In Your Daily Routine

When it comes to eating and living healthier, it’s not hard to see how one can quickly become overwhelmed with all of the options and ingredients that are available. So we're keeping it simple and stress-free with 6 ways to include functional mushrooms into your daily routine.

1. ADD TO YOUR COFFEE

Don’t be shy when it comes to adding mushrooms to your coffee in the morning.

Adding things like mushroom powders to coffee can offset some of the downsides of coffee, including jitters, acidity, and disrupted digestion.

This means, load it up!

A loaded coffee can mean that even if you are intermitted fasting, it won’t break the fast and support your gut if you would still like that morning black coffee to kick start the day. It also means you start the day feeling like you have a pep in your step and a clear mind to take on the day ahead of you. Simply add 1/4-1/2 tsp of mushroom powder to your morning coffee. Our favourite way to start our day is with Lion's Mane mushroom.

2. ADD TO YOUR YOGURT

It may seem a little crazy but adding some functional shrooms to your daily breakfast yogurt will hit the spot.

Weather you make homemade granola or buy your favourite from the shelves – scoop a serve of your choice of powdered adaptogenic mushroom and stir into your brekkie. This may provide you some gut and immunity support, whilst boosted energy to take on your day. Next time your making up your healthy breakfast try adding 1/4 tsp of Chaga to boost immunity, heal your body and fight infection from the inside out.

3. ADD TO YOUR SMOOTHIE

This one is pretty simple and one of our favourite ways to hide mushrooms in our meals. Adding adaptogenic mushrooms to your morning smoothie can help nourish your body, mind, and spirit. So get creative! Try adding a combo of Cordyceps and Chaga to boost your energy, vitality and daily performance.

4. ADD TO YOUR TEA

Over the last year, I have been doing a lot of experimenting and research on these beautiful herbs and I have found that teas are a great way for me to get herbs into my body. I just love herbal tea and drink a lot of it every day, so it makes it a lot easier when you can tailor your tea to your own needs and tastes. Reishi is our superhero mushroom to help relieve stress, wined down and aid restful sleep.

5. ADD TO YOUR BAKING

It’s always good to remember that some adaptogens & mushrooms can be a bit on the bitter side and therefore adding some coconut butter, cacao and sweetener will offset this.

Sweet dishes can really bring these ingredients to life and is another great way to get the boost you need through the day.

You can also make this in a big batch for the week, roll up some bliss balls and freeze or make some gummies or raw slice for something a bit different.

6. ADD TO YOUR COOKING

Technically not a mushroom but absolutely worth a mention. Ashwagandha is an ancient Indian herb used in every day savoury cooked dishes, including curries and soups.

This is a beautiful way to incorporate these herbs and get the whole family involved eating them. Ashwagandha is an ingredient that may regulate the bodies stress response, bringing it back into balance and enhancing dishes for overall wellness.
