Ombar Mug Cake

Ombar Mug Cake

Indulge in a delightful single-serving treat with this quick and easy Ombar Mug Cake recipe. A blend of all-purpose flour, cacao powder, and brown sugar forms the base, while a dash of baking powder and a drop of vanilla extract add depth of flavor. Plant-based oat milk and vegetable oil create a moist texture. The magic happens when you press cubes of Ombar Coco Mylk into the batter, resulting in a gooey, molten center. Microwave for about 2 minutes and voilà – a warm, decadent mug cake ready to be adorned with fresh mixed berries, a dusting of powdered sugar, and extra Ombar chunks for the ultimate chocolatey indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 Tbsp cacao powder

  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 Tsp baking powder

  • 1 Pinch salt

  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened oat milk

  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil

  • A drop of pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cubes of Ombar Coco Mylk (or whatever your favourite flavour of Ombar is!)

Optional Toppings

  • Fresh mixed berries
  • Powdered sugar
  • More Ombar

Method

1.
Mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt inside a large microwave safe mug.

2.
Add your plant-based milk, oil, and vanilla and mix until everything’s started to combine. Be careful not to overmix here!

3.
Press half the Ombar into the centre of your cake batter using your fingertips. This will give you that gorgeous gooey chocolate centre 🥰

4.
Microwave on high for about 2 minutes. You can test if the batter is ready by sticking a toothpick into the centre and seeing if it comes out clean. If the cake isn't cooked through yet, pop it back in the microwave and check every 15 seconds.

5.
Remove your mug cake from the microwave.

6.
Decorate your mug cake with the remaining Ombar and any other toppings you’d like!
